The headlights on the Ford Fusion are horrendous! This is irresponsible on Fords part and needs to be addressed as soon as possible! See all problems of the Ford Fusion. My car was apart of the headlight recall in After the fix the driver headlight was never the same. Recently that driver headlight went out when driving at night. In my case, it wasn't the bulb but the body module control which handles all the lighting in my car.
The headlight is supposed to be at 12 volts, but was at a 9 volts and I'm told it finally shorted. I think this has to do with the headlight repair done years ago. For a headlight this is a terrible build for consumers.
When my right or left blinker is on, my headlights flicker making it hard to see at night. Takata inflators I could not see headlight would go off and on and my steering wheel would shake uncontrollably came close to 3 fatal accidents every time things went wrong I was driving on the freeway me and my kids came so close to loosing our lives. I have noted, when passing newer Ford Fusions during non-daylight hours, that the headlights project brightly out of the side of the lens and slightly backward, to the point of being distracting and causing me to wince.
I have not noted this to occur when passing any other vehicles but have noticed it when passing several newer Ford Fusions. It appears that the light emission pattern for the headlight assemblies is the contributing factor. This is not confined to Fusions, it's most new Ford cars and trucks. Their headlights led? The Fusion in particular casts very bright out to the left side as to be distracting to vehicles in the lane to their left traveling in the same direction.
I've observed this mostly on 2-lane roads. The insurance institute for highway safety has rated "marginal" the headlight effectiveness for the Ford Fusion. Not all though. I have side lights and full beam but no dipped beam lights 2 position on switch. I find it weird full beam works as it shares same bulb as dipped lights. I have checked bulbs and both are fine.
I do not have any user manual or owners manual for car so I do not even know what fuse does dipped beam.
I know the fuse box is behind glovebox and I have checked everyone that looks like it has a light symbol. Please let me know asap so I canm install them. I have never installed oneon any of the cars tht we own, but other people that I know have purchsed them from us and hey have enjoyed them to the max. I have never had one compliant abou any of the kits that I sell. So should I just go about putting them on and seeing what happens. I know how to install them correctly I just dont want to have a problem by notfollowing the instructions and then blowing a fuse that I don't know where is is or even xworsemessing up my entire electrical system.

At first they worked great but then the left headlight low beam only stopped working. I got a new ballast and bulb still nothing. If not what could it be?? This is for a Fusion without HID headlamps. Each wire operates the coil of one of the two HID headlamp relays. The contacts of the left and right headlamp relays supply power to the respective low beam bulbs of the HID headlamps.
If your HID lamps attempted to use the stock non-HID wiring in your Fusion, F26 and F27 and the two relays are not in the picture at all, and your problem is either in your wiring or possibly the logic module in the SJB is blown on the left side only. You might want to pull fuse F26 just to make sure it is not burned, even if you didn't have the Ford HID headlights. What should I do to troubleshoot the headlight system for the left side. Is it pussible that I could have pulled the 2 wires going the the low beam bulb and they may have come loose from one of the 2 main plugs going into the hadlamp?
I will check the fuse but if the right one is working then it couldn't be that. The left headlamp low beam power and ground were the wires used to trigger the relay I had installed when I first installed the hid system but then I realized that the healights where computerized and automatically shut down when it sensed a bulb was not present or has blown.
So then once I wire the hid ballasts directly to the low beam power and ground wiire on both left and right side headlamps the left headlight stopped working.The customer stated that she had the bulb changed a few days earlier but it has failed again. The area is a little confined but the headlamp assembly does not need to be removed in order to perform this repair.

It seals out dirt and water. Placing my arm behind the headlamp and in front of the air filter housing was the most effective way for me to get to the bulb. Disconnecting the harness from the bulb while it was still installed was too difficult given the size of my hands and forearms. So I removed and installed the bulb with the harness connected to it.
You just have to be very careful to not touch anything to the glass portion of the bulb. Including fingers.

Disconnecting the harness from the bulb revealed the real problem. The terminal in the harness has overheated and was no longer making sufficient contact with the matching terminal in the bulb. Cut the old one out and spliced in a new harness. Another brand new bulb was also installed after replacing the harness connector. The old bulb already had signs of arc damage on the terminals and that would have adversely affected the new harness.

I tested the connection and found that there was no power coming to the light plug.
Then I took it to a mechanic. They told me that the hole headlight assembly would need to be replaced. Spent the money and had it done. The light worked for about 48 hours. I don't know why they would replace the head-light assembly, all plastic, no ground there, unless they felt it was not holding the bulb properly, ground is in the wiring to the bulb, sounds to me you have a bad connection somewhere, wiggle bulb when on, check back further in the wiring to the next connection check it.
Also you do not want to touch the bulb with your fingers as the oil from your hands, fingers cause the bulb to prematurely burn out.
